AR plunge! Experienced input desired!

So I am new to AR's. I've shot my fair share but never owned one. In fact, I've never spent this much money on a gun before. This is where you guys come in.

I really want one, and the primary purpose of this gun will be coyote hunting and backpacking, as well as plinking in the woods.

I think I may pull the trigger on this gun, but I am still skeptical, and hesitant.

He said it is chambered/barreled for 5.56 and has a 16" barrel with 1.7 twist rate. firm on price.

what do you guys think? Throw all your thoughts and shots at me!

Kinda spendy to me I picked up a dpms oracle at cabellas for 700.00
then added sights for 30.00

It has a few decent parts on it for sure. However the 2 things that are most important on an AR, the barrel  and trigger are not represented well in the ad.
It's showing a standard mil spec trigger, and no specs on a barrel.
   In you post it tells of a 16" 7 twist. Need to find out brand of barrel, chrome lined or not, number of rounds fired, accuracy.
A good trigger will run you $100.00 and up. The mil spec trigger is only worth ~$20.00.

cookingdaily: while I don't have a ton of money, I do have enough that I would like to start with something decent, that I don't want to replace any time soon. Life long type of build. I'm not really the guy with 6 AR's.

Jim: Thanks for the reply! The add states that it is a bravo company hammer forged lightweight barrel. After texting him, he said it was 16" and a 1:7 twist rate. I asked if the bolt carrier group and barrel were chrome lined, no reply. Probably asleep. add also states 40 rounds through gun  As far as trigger goes, That is an area that I WOULD prefer to upgrade later. When I have more money and when I've developed better shooting skills with this specific gun. right now I feel my bottleneck would be my skill level at rifle shooting/ expensive gun shooting.

just got a reply, he said that the barrel IS chrome lined, and the BCG is nickel boron coated.

Oops, missed the barrel spec in the ad.
 With you wanting to keep the rifle long term, you should be good to go.
The parts list looks good, sans the trigger. But that can be upgraded easy enough.
The 7 twist chrome lined barrel will let you shoot the heavies but may not be as forgiving with the lighter bullets (35-50's).
Some 7 twist's will do great with the lighter bullets but you won't know until you try.
 An AR built right should stay under an inch @100 with most loads, and under 3/4 with a load tailored to that rifle. Sometimes well under that even.

That's a good deal, a stock factory Sig Sauer M400 with a 7 twist will run you 1K.

It could just be me but that barrel looks longer than 16in and the hand guard looks really long also not that there is anything wrong with that it just looks out of proportion to me.  nice looking rifle anyway

Well, I got it! Just brought it home, it's a beauty of a rifle!

Can't wait to buy some glass and take it out coyote hunting!

Now that you have it have you measured the barrel ? Is it in fact 16in? just curious

If that's a 13" handguard like the ad says, then it is a 16" barrel with a mid-length gas system. You can see the shadow of the gas block if you enlarge the pic.

Seekins are top of the line.  Just the billet upper and lower would run nearly $1000.00.  The AR is only as good as the trigger, and a good trigger/hammer combo will cost you close to $150.00.

The Free float is at like 13.25" and the barrel sticks out another 3". I think what makes it so decieving is how thin the front handgaurd is. It's super thin. This is the lightest ar15 I've ever held.
