That's about as good as it's going to get for a standard Mil Spec upper receiver.
Unless you want to go with a different forward assist. Like a tear drop or titanium. If that's the case you get the stripped upper and instal a forward assist of your choice(Simple) and a dust cover. You can get them cheaper stripped without the forward assist and dust cover but by the time you order the upper receiver kit. You might as well have got it assembled.

This is the cheapest I have found for a stripped upper receiver.

Exactly, it would run you 24.00, plus 8.00 bucks or so shipping for the upper receiver parts kit.

I'm waiting on the new NorthTech Titanium forward assists to be delivered to Rainier Arms. I think they will look good on upper receivers finished in tungsten cerakote.

NorthTech also does some tough billet upper and lower sets with the titanium forward assist included.

If you're a WAC member, or just like to go to the gun show, you can find blem uppers for around $40.00 at the Puyallup show tomorrow.
Look for the Surplus Ammo banner.
The blem's are near perfect with a very minor cosmetic anomaly.
They also have blem lowers for around $60.00 if memory serves.
The show starts at 8:00 AM for non members.

When you say it "hasn't been worth it" what do you mean?
They do a tremendous amount of good for all of WA gun owners. They are the prime sponsor of I 591, which is our only chance to stop the anti gun I 594.
With out their political clout we would have had an 'assault weapons' ban in WA among other anti gun laws they have helped stifle.
If one only pays the membership fee to get into the gun shows with out a cover charge, then I suppose it might seem steep.
One truly needs to look at the total of what WAC does .

It has nothing to do with the cost of membership or what wac does for the local firearm community. When i did maintain my membership it was based upon being able to find good deals whether selling or buying and seeing lots of different guns and guy stuff now when and if i go it seems it's always the same people at the same tables with the same crap they keep hauling back and forth from puyallup to monroe not to mention half the people there obviously don't know what soap and water is one more thing i don't like is all the tables filled arts and craft crap like necklaces and jewelry and purses it isn't the home and garden show or whatever show people who are interested in that stuff go to. :o
