Deep Curl Quest
« on: January 14, 2014, 11:57:19 AM »
After reading so many positive posts on using Deep Curl bullets in sabots for muzzleloading I thought I would try to find some. Epic failure. I looked online and local Speer retailers. I contacted Speer by email and got the following response:
Mark: they are being dropped from the component bullet line, what you find now is all there will be for the foreseeable future.

This leads me to the question what is the next best bullet in the .44-.45 caliber for use with sabots for taking big game from Mulies to Elk out to 100 yards?

the BEST.. are probably the Barnes expander MZ ..(or similar) the all copper barnes X type made for muzzleloaders, but they do tend to be a bit pricey. I usually use the 300grn hornady XTP.. not ridiculous price, decent performance.  and you can usually find them.

They aren't sabots, but I always had good results with Powerbelt bullets.
