Just got back from a Trip with the wife not a hunting trip mind you but thought you might like to see how the bous in Louisiana build there duck blinds.
They build some you can sleep in but most build a float that you just park your boat in..
Oh and they leave there deeks out all season
If its brown knock it down

That looks pretty comfy.  Way more comfy than sitting in some elephant grass getting pounded on by rain.
It is what you meant it to be...

It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Those blinds get handed down generations...they make great cover for bass and crappie too.

Oh how I miss real duck blinds.  However, I do not miss the licensing and rebuilding after hurricanes part.

Hunted on Lake Claiborne near Sheveport and down on the marshes out of Lake Charles years ago with an old army buddy.
Was fun but it felt weird to hunt in a sweat shirt in Jan.
I also had some sort of misconception that gators hibernated in winter, which is totally untrue.

I'll deal with the cold E. WA weather and they can keep the gators.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Seems like everything wants our ducks. The gators in Louisiana, the sea lions on the Nisqually, and the eagles on the lakes.....
