I used to see a few piebalds every year in the pysht tree farm area on the oly pen. anybody hunt that area now? seen any in there? sad to say I havent hunted that area in quite a few years now. We would see a number of blackies with palmated antlers in the same area too, I was always hoping to take a piebald with palmated antlers, but never connected. Very cool deer, congrats!

I seen a couple if twin yearling's that were white from th belly up in Vail. The belly and legs were brown and all wite abovr the belly. Spoted the deer for 3 scouting trips before the season started, it was nice to watch them, but than momwas killed on opening day. The guy never saw the yearlings and was surprised when the ran off, only feet from were momlay dead.
I talked to him after the fact and told him i have been watching them for a few weeks now, he wished he would have seen them, he would have loved to tag one, even if they were pretty small.

Nice little Piebald for sure.  There is a piebald yearling running around Goldendale this year.  Its markings are only on his face though.

A true albino deer is very rare..... only 1 in more than a million are born annually and should not be confused with Piebald deer which are more common..

the answer is that albino deer are not protected in this state. Used to be many years ago, but not anymore, and that's as it should be. There is absolutely no reason an albino needs to be protected.
Thanks Bobcat!
