My new Bobcat trap.
« on: November 13, 2008, 08:07:32 PM »
Just finished the new bobcat trap what do you think. I fabricated and welded every part. I also included some detailed photos for anyone interested in making your own. Consider yourself warned it wasn't that cheap and it takes longer than you think.

Looks good. Good luck catching some cats this year. They bring a pretty penny these days!

That looks a lot like the traps we make at work for skunks and the like but with a heavier door. Good idea it should work great.

Probably about around a hundred$ just for the steel and wire, clips etc. I did go a little over kill I could probably do the next one for cheaper. I just hope it doesnt walk away with some one that would be really lame.

Thats what I do.  I put a few of them on there just in case one gets ripped off or whatnot.  The best thing about rolling them is that most trap thiefs are too dumb to notice them so you can prove it is yours if you find it.

There are tons of baits and lures for sale at trap supply companies.  My favorite bait for bobcat is just chunks of beaver meat or castor.  I also buy bait by the pint from a guy back east, it is very reasonably priced and is some of the best bobcat bait I have used.  If anybody would like to try some, I can post a price list and some contact info.
