Chrysler TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) help ?
« on: March 07, 2014, 08:32:10 AM »
I would like advice if anyone has experience with the "check your tire system soon" message .I have 2007 Chrysler Pacifica (it is 2WD) and had blown tire ......the tire got replaced in the morning and wife drove it OK. I drove it and after about 50 miles got that message . I had checked the inet forums and most is about the 2004 faulty systems giving out these messages .I understand there is something about batteries lasting 5-7 yrs ,magnet things etc..... but I'm not sure how to figure what is the real issue .Lot of people had taken their cars to the dealers but in some cases even the dealer couldn't have figured out what is it.
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Did they replace the sensor when they fixed the tire?  Could of damaged it when tire blew

I guarantee you the dealer can figure it out. I'd also bet a dollar that whoever replaced the tire broke the sensor.
The batteries do wear out...the magnets are for retraining them, which I'm 99% sure doesn't need to be done on that car. There is a tool that reads RF frequency from the TPMS sensor that is needed to know whether a sensor is bad.
