Kuiu icon 7000
« on: January 16, 2014, 08:06:50 PM »
Kuiu has their icon 7000  in slate/ grey with the 2013 frame and 2012 suspension in their outlet for 299.99.  Looks like a great deal for people that did not want to spend 549.00 and were on the edge.

If you plan on hauling weight, you better look further than Kuiu, and especially Tenzing. The Kuiu packs have been breaking the frames, and the Tenzings, have been coming apart with weight.

Unfortunately, you have to spend some money. Stone Glacier has gotten great reviews, and is very minimalist and light weight. I have a Mystery Ranch that I like. It is well made, and handles weight well, but it is rather heavy. I just ordered a Kifaru. Well made and great customer service. About a six week turn around, because they make each pack to order. Pretty much known as the top of the line, but a little more pricey. A big investment, but if you are serious about backpack hunting, a good pack makes a huge difference when you're packing out your camp and meat.
