Bobcat size cage traps
« on: January 17, 2014, 12:15:47 PM »
I just started trapping this year and have been using some Duke XL cage traps, targeting for bobcat..I am going to buy some new traps this spring so I am ready for next season. I was just curious what type of traps other guys were using for Bobbers? Anyone use the Camtrip Traps? Or the Briarpatch Cage Traps? Let me know what you are using and how ya like it, thanks in advance I appreciate it

I'm loving Mercer's traps. The Camtrips are very reliable and haven't froze up yet. The dukes do well for me as well. I'm gonna get a Biarpatch set this summer, I hear good things?

Which size camtrips are you using? The Briarpatch sets look pretty nice thats kinda what I was leaning towards also..do the camtrips have a bait door?

They come in a 4 pack. I believe the biggest is 11”X20”x36" and the dimensions get an inch smaller as they go down...10”X19”, 9”X18”, 8”X17” all 36” in length. They fit inside each other, so easy transport...as do the Biarpatch. I've caught cats in every size. I got in a cat in 30x10x12 last year, but I do believe the taller cages make their decision to go in a cage easy. Look back through previous threads, there's a lot of good info on this subject.
