So I want to get set for next season and am starting to work on it now. I have enough points I feel confident that I stand a good chance at drawing a multi-season elk tag this year. In 2012 and 2011 I did archery and was satisfied with my accuracy but I want to step up my gear a little. I was running some arrows I bought at Wal-Mart after season clearance for $19 a half dozen with factory offset fletchings. I run the Magnus stinger 125 grain broadheads with the little bleeder blades on them. I want to step up some quality in my arrows. My hope is to try out some of the easton full metal jackets. I shoot a Bear TRX 32 at 61 ish pounds (the max I can get it to) I thought with what I have read that the helical would give me better stabilization with the bigger 2 blade style broadheads I use. I just am not sure if it will cause too much drag on the arrow or not since my rig doesent shoot too fast in the first place, not slow but not the fastest either. Before I was keeping 6-8 inch groups at 45 yards and thats about the max I really intend to shoot at an animal. By the time my arrow gets that far will a helical fletch slow it down too much? Opinions?
