Is there a thread with peoples points on here?  I wonder who has the most and never drawn.

I know many people have 18 points for moose, sheep, and goats. I'm at 17 for moose, don't know how I did it, but somehow I missed one year. Sheep I'm around 15 points since I gave up on that one since the application and tag prices went up. Odds are too low and not worth wasting the money every year, in my opinion.

Even with the odds, you'll never get drawn if you don't put in....you never know....

I agree, and if I was made of money I sure would be applying for sheep. But I had to cut back somewhere and that's one I didn't mind giving up on. The tag is $330 if you get drawn. That's too much for me. I'd rather spend $330 on an out of state deer tag.

So........now that you drew the tag the you weren't even putting in for any more, are you going to eat your words and spend the $330 on an out of state deer tag since that's what you'd "rather" do :dunno:

I'm just going to go on my sheep hunt and enjoy it! I'll have to cut back somewhere to justify the cost of the sheep tag, but I'll make it happen. I'll probably do a lot less deer and elk hunting. And no trail cameras in the summer like I normally do. Sound like a good plan?

If I were you I would have moved that army of trail cameras over to the sheep unit already  :chuckle:

LOL, I just gotta keep rubbing it in.  For some reason it always stuck in my head when you made that post and I couldn't figure out your logic for the life of me.  Apparently it worked out well, and I'm taking note of that!

It works I tell ya! Just keep telling yourself that it's a waste of money and not worth it, then at the last minute purchase and submit your application.

I applied in eight categories this year. Seven of those I submitted on May 1st. The eighth application, the sheep, I didn't purchase and submit until May 21st, the day before the deadline. That's the only one I drew. Couldn't even draw a cow elk permit but I get a sheep permit. :dunno:

I figure drawing it now just saved me $274 in application fees in the next 20 years. That makes me feel better about spending the $332 on the tag. :chuckle:

Geez, you guys never change your mind? I didn't apply in 2012 and 2013, but applied every year from 1997 up to then.

This year, finally decided I ought to use my points, since I had paid for them over the years. So I decided to go ahead and "donate" $14 to the WDFW.

Not sure what else I can say other than sorry I drew and you didn't.

Anyone else got or are close to getting the Washington state oil draw hat trick?
I have finally succeeded in drawing all three OIL tags under the points system. Drew quilamine sheep in 99 drew selkirks moose in 2001 and just drew goat rock for goat .
