Hi folks, my son and I went out to the very field where he got the coyote a while back, if you didn't see it you can go here,

any way we went there yesterday and the deer beat us to the field and we had to set up too far away for him, 400yards. so I picked him up from school a little earlier and we went with the intention of setting up a decoy and getting hidden before the deer came to the field, when we came to the corner of the field I saw a single deer out in the field and looked at him with my bino's and told my boy "it's a buck". so we get him set up next to a good size tree and watch & wait for the right shot opportunity and after only being there maybe two minutes the buck turns and offers a broadside shot at a later paced 115 yards. I tell him to shoot when ready and he fires and it drops without going anywhere and we reload and make sure he's down for good and then come out and take care of him and the landowner shows up up and hauls him out for us, thanks awesome landowner!
He used his sister's T/C contender in 25/35 Winchester since dad was screwing around working up a new load for his 250-3000 and didn't have any cartridges loaded. Her gun shoots 100 grain Ballistic tips @ 2650fps and it put him down as good as anything else I've ever used. He took a high shoulder shot.
I couldn't have been more proud! Good luck to all late season hunter still after theirs!
It is a big-bodied, three-by-spike. we are ecstatic! for those who don't like pictures without, he is wearing his orange and it is tagged!
