understand but still sad
« on: January 23, 2014, 09:28:25 AM »
Being a duck hunter I know some birds are better than others and that the most meat is on the breast I work in fredrickson and took a walk and this is what I found a pile of mixed ducks with only there breasts removed when I came upon it I really had to think was it worth it ?

Pretty common from what was discussed in an earlier thread.

Somebody dumped them right next to the blacktop?  :o   :bdid:

Ethics aside regarding breasting ducks, that is poor taste to dump them right next to the road. :twocents:

Here......I'll make this understandable....

Wasn't trying to stir nothin up. I rip breasts out of grouse, pigeons, and pheasants but at least I would respect the public and not leave a pile right next to road. I know this is an exception not the rule. My vail buck pics are on other phone and I will try to get them. I cropped that pic. I will put the whole pic up.

See....that is so much better.

I agree!
Process your animals however you want to, but don't give people a reason to hate hunters.
Respect the animal and dispose of the waste properly.

You aren't, I was thinking they were processed at home and the remains were taken out and dumped.  :dunno:

Once of the spots in the area where all the duck shacks are you can tell when someone is cleaning birds.  You will see a line of breasted out carcasses floating down the river.  They just pitch them out and let the current take them out to the bay.  They become seagull bait and other critter bait.

Sorry, but I feel that guys need to try way harder to harvest the meat out of waterfowl. Meat is meat, and I feel you owe it to the bird and the sport to attempt to get all the meat from your kill.

Dumping it in the open is a another bad idea.

Didn't you condone Fred for making an instructional video on Gutless skinning of elk.? Although you did say most butchers would turn it away. I do not believe Fred takes all of the meat he could and he also owes it to the animals .Just saying. :twocents:
