OK folks, I confess, it was my buck.  Thanks for all kind comments. My wife says it is going to my head, but I have been trying for a buck like this for 30 years.  My nephew (Houndhunter) thought the old dog had used up all his tricks, but I guess I had one more up my sleeve.  I just turned 50 so this was a nice birthday present.  I butchered him last night, BIG DEER!  Thanks again.

Outstanding Silvertip!!!!

I think a new avitar is coming. Did you get any field photos? Did you take any pics with a film camera?

Silvertip-
I'm sure you've still got a few more tricks. You can't hunt blacktail for 30 years and not learn a thing or two. Congrats on an excellent buck.

I think it would go to anyone's head after killing a buck like that!  Congratulations on the buck of a lifetime!

I can't believe how modest you are.  I would have lost the cape on that thing because I would have drove around town for a week with the tail gate down showing it off.   :)  What mass, it is incredible still love looking at that deer.  Gives me somethin to shoot for.  Yeah I know it would be a helluva long shot :)

What a buck.  Glad you posted those pictures and shared them with us. That's got to be the biggest blacktail rack I have ever seen. My partner and I got some nice blacktails this year. His was a 5 X 5 and until I saw yours, his was the largest I had seen. I'll have to email him about yours.

Absolutely, hands down, no question the most impressive blacktail I have ever seen.  I can only hope to have an encounter with a buck like that during season.
