A great hunt with HNTRSPUD
« on: January 25, 2014, 08:12:59 PM »
Had a great day with HNTRSPUD on NAS Whidbey Island.   We ended up getting 2 pintails a piece and 3 teal a piece.  If we werent so busy talking about HUNTWA, and upcoming cat hunting we would have limited out :chuckle:

Blind 6 or 7? Me and an older buddy of mine were in 2. Fog made it tough with his eye sight. But we ended up with the only goose of the day from the sounds of it. I talked to the guys at blind 1. 3 of them got their limit of pintail, 5 teal and 2 bufflehead if I remember correctly. Congrats!

Patton we were in 7.  What the heck was wrong with blind 5?  They must have shot 60 times...  good job on that goose!

I was thinking the same. I was surprised anyone was even hunting it. We need to meet up before next season. I want to go after some of them scoters. Early season they look like a hatch of flies on the water right in front of my house (Penn Cove). I'm going to give it one last ditch effort with a buddy from work and my son at blind 2 tomorrow. Good luck on the last day!

I'll ask Monday at work...but I may know who was in blind 5.  If it is who I think it is, they are new hunters and this is their first season in WA.

I've had pretty good success on the scoters out in the middle of the cove actually with just black and white decoys.  Lots of goldies this year but less buffies.
