I didn't see anything going sideways.

There was some speculation and its a thread about an auction tag, just a matter of time before it would go sideways.

I was the other guy duking it out with Ben.  :bash:  I had been led to believe that there were quite a few serious buyers that were going to be in the room and on the phones.  I was surprised how fast the out-of-state guys on the phones bailed early on.

I sure hope he gets his money's worth out of this goat hunt.  I mean c'mon...$15,000 is one thing, but $15,500 is just crazy high for a goat.   ;)

Now it's a wait and see game for the permit and raffle draw ( 8) ), or see what's available at the SCI Convention in Vegas.  It will be interesting to see which other units WDFW might open up.  Either way, I'd love to head up there with Ben, James and Aron with some big Swarovski glass and help him find a freak.  It's all about the experience and being in the mountains with good people!

Ok gotcha.  I thought the speculation got cleared up pretty quick. James' auction tag thread went pretty well a couple years ago.

Ok guys, I havent been on here for a while since temporarly moving to Chicago... So the skinny on the whole Goat tag is as follows...

My Good Friend Ben from Bellingham who was by my side and filmed my Goat hunt on Mt.Baker back in 2012 has been wanting the tag ever since, along with a few others as well who bid against him  :yike:

As many of you know Aron Snyder is one of my good friends and on my hunt as well.  We agreed that if Ben got the tag we would assist him in scouting and during the hunt.  So the plan is after I complete a Mid September Muzzleloader Elk hunt in Colorado with Aron, he will ride back here to WA with me and help Ben with his Goat hunt the rest of the season.

No Sponsors were involved to purchase the tag, just a lot of Hard work and Sacrifice by Ben running his own successful business over the years.

We will be pimping the Hell out of Kifaru Back packs and Kryptek Camo while trying to find a new state or maybe world record Billy!!!

BChaser will be up there again with us as well along with a few others like ShaneVG...

This Tag is getting expensive now and way out of my reach ever again, so I will have to live threw others on these hunts.  I am looking forward to helping Ben find a Billy that will Bury mine deep in the books, and they are definetly here to be had!

Oh ya also Looking forward to filling my New Kifaru nomad this season with 100lbs of gear and meat and grinding it out on the trail back to  the Truck at Midnight again!!!!  Oh the memories, thats why we all do it right!!!!!
Hey man thanks for the update! Glad to see people chasing the dream.
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

Hey Everyone,

First post here on Hunt Washington, but since my phone was blowing up about me buying the Washington goat tag (fact checking must not be required), I figured I better see what tag I bought and how much I payed:)

Anyway, I was with James when he killed the current state record and so was Ben. As you can imagine, a lot of BSING was going on during the hike out and Ben made it clear he would get the tag when we all could go along with him.

I know for James and I 2014 is going to be a crazy season. James should draw a kick ass elk tag in Colorado (we've been planning this for a long time) and I'll be in the Northwest Territories for a couple months before that hunt with James.

At the end of the day, it's all about the adventure and hanging out with friends, but I know we're all committed to go the distance to see a another state record hit the ground.

So hopefully our ladies don't leave us and we don't get fired either!!!!

Great to be a part of this forum!
