Eze Center Laser Tuning Aid
« on: January 27, 2014, 10:17:40 PM »
Just picked mine up in the mail today and boy is this one nice little product. No Idea why Ive been without it for so long  :chuckle: probably the price haha.
You just install it where your sight goes, set the lazer on your string, swivel the lazer to the tip of your arrow, and adjust the arrow rest until the lazer shows center and true on the tip top of your arrow and bam, your set. Remove, install sight, good to go. Seen ROD using this at sportsmans warehouse last month and HAD to get me one, It has tons of uses. If your into working on your own bow, This is a must have tool.
Here is a link to check it out, This is Kenny Parson's website, Hes a very knowledgeable guy who runs his own archery youtube channel and has been quite a help to me over the last year

Does all that in about 2 seconds, I don't have the convenience of having a place to paper tune.

They have been out for a few years.  HAd my new bow set up at the archery shop several years ago with one for $5 including having a peep installed.  Any good archery shop will have one and more than likely set it up for almost nothing.  Sorry, but you just forked out a bunch of $$ for something that you will use a couple of times.   :dunno:

Not a waste of money, nice tool to have around gets you in the ball park of your center shot real quick. This tool is no different than a laser bore sighter for your rifle.

Ive had one since they came out..........they are a great tool for initial refernce, however I have found that in some cases, I still end up moving the rest in or out a tiny bit to get the desired arrow flight............not the holy grail.

 :yeah:

Initial expense maybe is high, but not really overall... but him being able to adjust and work on all 3 of our bows plus any future bows/rests we change out to, saves on gas and time of going back and forth constantly to the shops. We've bugged Rod dozens of times at Sportsman's and spent way more money wandering around the store waiting to see him than we would have if we had this initially  :chuckle: .. Good starting point anyways and whatever makes him happy to have :)

You so smaht!
But yeah, what she said. I like working on my own stuff and changing things around. I get bored with the same stuff day after day. Gonna get a QAD hx soon though. Not enough clearance on my Trophy taker for my liking. Good rest but it will go on my other bow instead of a whisker bisquit.

Which means more playing with lazzer beeaam.
It also helps make sure everythings in sync like cams to.

They have been out for about 7-8 years. By the time you take off your sight, mount the laser, Set your arrow rest, remount the sight. It is WAY easier to set the center of the arrow at .3/4" which is standard for all center shot bows. You still have to shoot it for perfect center shot in the field. You can walk back tune and it will be perfect. I quit using my laser a long time ago. It was great when I first got it. You will find it does not work exactly on all bows. Depending on the riser angle at the sight mount. I found that some bows were way off of center when using this tool.
If you sight in at 20 yds. Shoot an arrow at a blank bale, proceed to 30 yds and aim at the nock with your 20 yd pin. Your arrow will fall below the first arrow since you went back another 10 yds. It will fall left, center or right of the first shot. If it goes left move your rest to the right and visa versa for a right impact. Much more accurate than paper or a laser. You should be able to shoot at 80 yds and fall directly in line below the dot. Perfect Broadhead flight if your arrows are properly spined.

Several years back, I was told by two different manufacturers tech reps that 13/16ths + or - , was the starting point..............

Nothing is set in stone, too many variables. Amount of built in torque, grip torque, arrow spine, nock fit, form. All these and more can effect centershot. The only true way to find correct centershot is to tune it using techniques that require actually shooting the bow. Most bows centershot falls between 3/4" and 7/8", depending on manufacturer. You also can't just go by a certain number, because everyone's form and grip is slightly different, resulting in the rest being in slightly different spots person to person.

Mathews and bowtech I start tuning at 3/4". My Hoyts usually tuned about 13/16". And my new elite tuned at 7/8". Using these measurements have always gotten me very close.

I bought one of these for that reason. Very easy to use and no need to take your sight off. Gets you in the ball park real fast.
