Wow, that is beautiful!  Can't wait to see some paper from the range!  I'd love to do a project like that someday (and then bring some meat home with it!)

I hunted with a Hawken for about 20 years, until my wife bought me an inline and I went to the dark side....

Sometimes I miss that rifle.

Had to order a taller blade sight as the rear is calibrated for a .400" tall front sight. One minor thing I over looked  :o

90gr Schuetzen with a .562" round ball didn't shoot that great with this powder but at least it reacts the same way my other twin of this rifle does! Huge comfort once I switched to a much tighter .575" ball with a .015" patch. Only 2 shots as I am out of the .575's now.

That looks GREAT!
I just picked up an old stock, CVA kit Hawkins.  Has both the 50 and 54 barrels.

How long did it take you to build it?

Looks excellent!! I built one a while ago, it was a fun project. Maybe one of these days I will build another one.
