wifes quilomene buck
« on: November 15, 2008, 06:03:29 PM »
With help from wannahunt who told where to go we got this deer. When we got over there on wensday we got into a wind storm and had trouble seeing. Thursday morning was nice and we found this deer right off and she made a 150 yard shot. We saw lots of elk but only 2 legal bucks in two days so we were really happy to follow the map we got and to find this deer.

Congrats to your wife on a nice looking buck. Thanks for sharing the story and the pics, I especially like the "inspector" at the bottom of the pic.  :chuckle:

We saw this buck the first day but the wind was blowing so hard she could;nt keep on it so we had to wait until the next day. We might have ruined her as a hunting partner she shoots a 243 but we did;nt think it would be the gun to use over there so we slipped a 300 ultra mag to her and she said she would never shoot that gun ever again. We sure had fun being from the coast and being use to lots of trees and brush it was fun to be able to see. They have been talking of putting up a windmill on the hill behind your house and to see the size of them was something to see. I had never been in the quilomene before and on a post I made I asked for some help and was given great direction by another member and was very grateful for the help. The reason for the dog is that a couple days before our hunt our female got her neck through a blanket and chocked to death so we took him with us but he is just a pet not a hunting dog. Sorry to offend.

Very nice buck!
I don't think anyone was offended about the dog, I think everyone was joking around. I was wondering what he was looking at  :P
