Ideas for kids muzzle-loader Westside ?
« on: November 17, 2008, 05:15:34 PM »
Anyone willing to share any ideas for a reasonable area for me to take my two sons for late muzzle-loader deer?

They are 11 and 13 yrs old. Both 1st year hunters. Got there classes passed fairly late. I ended up getting them muzzle tags thinking that was probably their best bet even though it has been years since I personally have hunted black powder.

So we've been to the range enough so they're pretty confident shooters. Now I need to put them on some deer. I'm leaning toward an "any deer" unit, fairly close to home
(Graham- South Sound).

Been scouting in the Deschutes (used to hunt it and its close to home), but the Weyerhaeuser land has been parcelled out. Found a small area to hunt, but its pretty over-grown.

So any help we could get would be much appreciated. Lincoln and Satsop are open, know them a little. Mason lake is open, don't know it at all...
