West side spring bear permit question
« on: January 29, 2014, 03:03:00 PM »
I know copalis and kapowsin require permits for spring bear hunts if drawn. Do the other permits require you to buy a land access permit if drawn to hunt the timberlands on the west side. Like north skagit, Monroe, or Lincoln.
Thanks for the help.

Lincoln didn't 3 years ago as they just mailed out a map. I'm not sure on Monroe or N Skagit. It doesn't say anything about passes in the books to my knowledge.

Ya I didn't see anything in the regs about it needing a permit. Been a while since I got a bear so figured I would try for a permit to up my chances to harvest one. Would love to get a bear again. They are just an awesome animal.

I don't think an access permit would be needed for Lincoln. The. Pe Ell permit would be needed from August 1 to Dec 31, but the rest of the year it's open to access without a permit. Weyerhaeuser could still decide to require a permit for the bear hunt. That you probably won't find out until after the drawing is over.

Monroe is mostly DNR so you dont need one.
