I've got a couple places locked down in SE WA for Rios and working on a couple leads north of Spokane for merriams.  Will the birds in that area have that gorgeous white tipped fan?

For the most part yes, although it generally only looks that way in direct sunlight. All my Merriams fans I have mounted in the house look to be more of a creamy white with hints of yellow color than pure white, but there are also a lot of color variations within Merriams.  :twocents:

Awesome, I'm excited to get after a Merriams this year, and really one that is white.  I have friends that have killed Merriams in SD that have darker fan tips that the Rios I have killed in Oklahoma and Kansas.

They vary in color quite a bit, I do like the whitest ones best. Just look them over before you shoot and if you want a whiter one hold out till you find what you want.
