Thank you Rick for the info filled seminar and the  call . Now I know how to call cub in distress and other animals to atract bear plus how and where to hunt . You and Billy should actually write a book on bear and varmint hunting . Billy thank you for your contribution to the seminar also ...have any of you two thought about teaming up for events like these ? I'm glad I went .....
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Good seminar. I learned quite a bit about the calls. I've always had troubles with the mouth calls but after watching you work the calls I think I'll spend the rest of the spring driving my dog crazy in the house and work on calling some coyotes and bears this summer. Nice meeting you Billy. I've met a few of the people on Hunt-WA and they all seem to be top-notch in my opinion. Thanks for the help!

Thanks. I hope you were able to learn something new.
Actually I have been working on a book for a couple years, but just a little at a time. I have turned down several seminar opportunities, but Rick asked about doing one with him next year and I am seriously considering it.

To those that have asked by pm, no Rick and I have not done seminars together. We have known each other for over 20 years, hunted the same areas and hunted together a couple times but we have shared many stories and many campfires so we are often in sync. We each do some things differently but have experienced many of the same things.

It was nice to meet more site members and I would like to encourage the lurkers to ask their questions and not be embarrassed or feel insecure.

Big thanks to Ric for the seminar this weekend.

I purchased one of his calls last summer and have experimented with it a bit, but wasn't confident that I was getting the right sounds out of it.  After hearing Ric call a bit on Sunday, my confidence has been boosted.

BillyTheKid was also very helpful.

My big takeaway was that you can't really blow a bad call when calling bears, what's more important is consistency and perseverance.

Big thanks to both of you!

Lots of good info, my only critique would be to maybe use the provided microphone next time, I pretty much heard nothing in the back except for the calling.
