Was looking through pics and thought some might enjoy a few of these. Too cool landed on at the base camp for climbers right below the sumit. Fifty feet of snow and landed with the skis down only. Flipped the tail around and took off from the cliff... It was one of the coolest flights I went on...

Pacyew has been on the mountain 2 or 3 times I believe and summited either once or twice. I was on it once and did not summit because I was too worried about my feet. I kept having serious problems with the cold so chose to keep my toes and not summit. There are old climbers just like there are old pilots but there no old, bold of either profession.
Great pictures...lots of history up on that hill, lots of sadness for the families of those that Big Mac did not allow to return. Alaska is not a forgiving state. If you look at the obits you'll see lots of younger people getting the Big Chop because if poor judgement in serious situations or just plain bad luck. Been in tight spots over the years but for the grace of God I was able to come on out of those situations OK.

With scenery like that, a govenor like Palin, and so many moose, I wonder why I don't live up there. Oh, and its legal to shoot wolves and winter doesn't bother me. Kind of a lack of Mule deer though. Thanks for getting those pics on here Cohoho.
