Late Season Swakane or Sinlahekan Archery Deer?
« on: November 16, 2008, 07:41:17 AM »
I am planing on going to Swakane or The Sinlahekan next wednesday for the 20th opener of deer. I know the roads in both units pretty well but I have not Archery hunted Late season in either unit. Any information on general areas that hold deer, would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advance,
John

Swakane was crowded last year, but there was more snow then.  Probably more hunters as well.  I saw 15 trucks in one day.  I don't mean to turn you off of the unit, but be prepared to get away from the roads.

I don't have a deer tag now (already filled it!), but I would look into Derby Canyon, Rattlesnake Spring, or Chumstick Mountain.  Sorry I cannot help with Sinlahekin.

Just talked to my bro who just left the Sinlahekin (his wife had a late whitetail tag). He said it is a zoo with all of the archery guys rolling in and setting up camp. Be prepared for a huge crowd!!!!!!!
