got my buck
« on: November 16, 2008, 01:13:51 PM »
Got this guy on the 15th. Better late than never. Nicest fork horn I have ever shot. Elk season was good. I had a cow tag for coweeman area and got a real nice cow. No pics as there is no glory in shooting a cow. She wieghed in at 391 after removing the head hide and legs. Big cow. anyway there is meat in the freezer and we will have sausage and pepperoni for Christmas munchies.

Really nice animal...
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Nice buck, nothing wrong with killing a cow... heck one of our group has 10 pts. and still can not get drawn  :o :bash:

Horns are not all that tasty anyway!!!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I had been still hunting a stand of timber and spent most of the morning working down to the bottoms. I dropped into an alder planting along the river and was working my way upstream slowly working the patch. I had the wind in my face and I could hear this guy going ape*censored* on an alder tree. I worked my way up above to get a good look and there he was staring at me at 40 yards or so. 300 mag too much gun for deer though. Rib cage was tatered and I had to hang his front shoulders seperately. Hind quarters and backstrap wieghed 85 lbs. He was a nice buck. If its brown its down
