anyone know about Ghostblinds?

i was at cabelas earlier this afternoon, and ran into this product. it seems like a pretty interesting idea. i was just curious if anyone on here has seen or used this.

I don't know you still have to shoot over the top of the thing so an animal could easily catch movements.

    I know a half dozen self proclaimed experts that sit behind those things every year since they came out.  They tell me repeatedly how awesome they are!  One of the guys even got a shot at an animal last year!  That did it for me...they must be awesome!!!

I think they have their niche.  But you still need to blend with your surroundings.  I'd rather hide in plain view backed up against a good cover with appropriate camo patterns than hide behind a screen with improper back cover and camo when trying to get a shot off.

I often am surprised by deer that were in open spaces, but blended well to their back ground.  And I rarely miss a groundhog poking his head out of a hole.  Even at great distance.

I looked at them, only drawback for me was their price. I think it would work good for open country where there is little to hide behind or in front of to break your outline. they have shooting "slots" so you can shoot a bit through it instead of sticking your whole head and shoulders over it

How many would it take to surround my 12' dinghy for duck hunting?  Might be the only way to hide out on the salt.   Hmmmm.

I looked at them on and off for years. But just could not wrap my head around the price and that big of package to carry around.

I think you would be better of with a hub blind than the ghost blind. Ido think it might work for ducks though sine you are shooting up not over.

When cabelas first started dealing them they had a special offer. $35.00 I almost bought one but wanted to wait for reviews. A buddy swears by his. Not willing to spend that much but want to try one coyote hunting in a wide open field.

I built a similar blind about 8 years ago using mylar material and used 3M spray on glue. 

It worked fantastic...  You just tilt it down and the animal only sees what is the material on the ground.

thats the thing it seems like it would be so much cheaper and easy to make one at home the pay 200.00 for one.
