.17 hmr vs. .17 WSM
« on: February 04, 2014, 07:30:09 PM »
Has anyone picked up one of the .17 WSM?  A friend showed me this caliber after the fact and the ballistics are impressive for a rime fire.  Definate improvement over the .22 win mag and .17 hmr.
Cut em!

I don't have one, but the only complaint i have heard is that the stock on the savage feels light and cheep... They could have done more with that roll out.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Been thinking about picking one up, I love my HMR so the WSM should be fun too.

Boyds does make stocks for the bmag now......I didn't like the gun as a whole personally....too cheap for me! I'll wait for some better options. Volquartsen  has an awesome one, BUT it sure is a spendy rim fire.

But it's not the newest, coolest caliber. I have one, or actually, both, so I'm cool. 8)

There are some places where its Rim-fire only. I was told that inside the Kittitas Reclamation District (KRD) that it was shotgun, rim-fire only. I'm guessing Because of all the smaller farm field sizes and the abundance of houses..

So there is a reason and there is a place for them.

I just ordered a Boyds stock for my Bmag. I hope it makes it feel better and even look better in camo.
