Our early season is to early, they need to set up a fixed date like we used to have. No one has mentioned that we lost five days of our late season, I would like to see that back as well.

I think our late season is on a rotating start date also is why it was short this last season

I believe that is correct, used to start nov. 20 and go through Dec. 8, but the the last few seasons have been starting later and later resulting in lost days a field.
Late season starts the same day every year- the day before Thanksgiving.

And since last year Thanksgiving was as late as possible thus the late start to late season.  Btw, the late season is a lot less valuable than the game department makes it out to be.

  • These animals are gods gift first before government's possessions. If it is illegal for a man to fend for himself then he can not be a man in his own right!

They took away the late season for my area a few years ago. I would love a late season where I hunt.

2015 the season goes to the 8th and then starts dropping backwards again. Starting on the 8th every year would always leave the prime rut to the elk. With the archery season starting so early most years the ML and MR groups are benefiting as seen in the larger percentage of branch antlered bulls taken by those groups compared to archers. It's way more difficult to hunt branch bulls during these early archery seasons because they are not competing for gathering cows yet. Last year was the first year we did not hear a bugle or get a response during the whole season and we were not the only ones.

I would even give up a couple days of the late season to get the 8th start date every year.
