The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
I was thinking 40 series but sounds like 50's is the way to go..I dont mind loudness though
Sweet I'll stick with a 50's series..i also plan on a intake as well I'm sure that will help a little also! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are you just swapping out the stock muffler for a louder one? If so I'd go with a 40 if you want throaty. I have a 40 on my f150 and it's not really that loud. At idle you can barely tell its not the stock muffler. Sounds good when you hit 1700+ Rpms though. With all that said I much prefer the sound quality of magnaflows over flowmasters.
You young whippersnappers crack me up....Later in life, you will look back at decisions like this and just shake your head.....what was I doing...?Put a nice quiet stock muffler on it like designed and make your neighbors happy...
I want to say I have a 70 series Flowmaster on my '02 Silverado. It's been there 5-6 years and I can't remember for sure what it is. It's not too loud. I had a Corsa cat back on it from GM Performance parts and it was soooo loud and there was a lot of drone.

When I had diesels it was 4in straight pipe and that was the only way to go. A year ago I got a f150 and decided to keep it quiet and stock, best decision of my life my buddy drew an eastside archery bull tag last year and it sure was nice to pull up to a spot on the road, bugle out the window and get a response! Never do that with a loud truck! Haha anyways ive alwayd liked the sound of the flowmaster 49.
maybe you can find a guy that pulled his duramax muffler off ? they flow much better and last .
If you have someone else install a Flowmaster or Magnaflow, make sure you are not getting an aftermarket knockoff!I had a Magnaflow on my 02 Ram that made it sound great. A buddy liked it and went to a local "Exhaust shop" to have one installed. It sounded fine. Three years later his was already rotted through. Mine was still going fine after six years.
dont bother with a cat-back unless you do something before the cat...a good set of stainless headers would be more gooder...
