2 rats and a cat
« on: February 01, 2014, 09:46:32 AM »
Yesterday was a good day for me on the line. I think the rain may have encouraged the animals to start moving again (or maybe they are running around looking for love). Anyway, I left work at 0730 and checked traps on the way home. I was shocked to see the door closed on the bobcat trap and even more shocked to see a big tom looking back at me. Last week it was a possum looking back at me. Kept walking to the creek and there was a rat in each of the colony traps! January was such a slow month for trapping, it really felt good to start catching stuff again.

That looks like a dandy tom! Love the indignant look on his face.  :chuckle:

Hey Karen, Awesome catch's! What size is your cat cage? Any places on purchasing one for a decent price?

Smossy, that is a Hav-A-Hart 1081. 15x15x40. I get them at the Darigold Farm Store in Chehalis for about $86. It is just fine for cats right out of the box, but a beaver or raccoon will tear it up. Just to be safe reinforce the door and seams with cage clips or hog rings.

Beautiful cat, Karen!
If you sell it, it should get a good price.

Thanks Diane. Right now he is spending some "quality time" with Bucklucky. When he gets home he's going on the wall in the living room.
