Witnessed an amazing rifle shot today
« on: February 08, 2014, 11:00:07 PM »
Jesse, Alan and I were at the NCW gun club shooting from the 600 yard firing line. We were randomly picking on steel out to 700 when Jesse (JLR) from RBros rifles picked up my R Bros 6.5X47 L, holding it left handed, he commented that the rifle had rather good balance and he allowed as to how he could tag the 620 yard steel with it, off hand, weak side. ( plate is 1/2" AR 500- 12"wX16"t)
Well I've witnessed Jesse shoot weak side and knew he wouldn't disappoint. With Alan (Fuzzy) and me spotting, Jesse's first shot from the rifle scraped the right edge of the plate.
With the spot confirmed by Fuzzy, Jesse cycles the bolt, and sends his second round for a center hit @ 620 yards, with a  borrowed rifle, standing, weak side...
I retrieved my rifle  and packed it up.
 Not going to top that.

:yeah:  Must be those smart bullets! :chuckle: Watching that would be amazing and humbling at the same time. I'd watch that shot and put my gun away too.

I used to know a SSgt. In the Marines that could stand on the 600 yard line and reliably hit black. This was standing with an M16 held as a pistol (on arm fully extended, could do it from either side). Granted that was a B Mod target but still pretty tough with irons. He always put me in my place when ever I thought I was a great shot.

Where would I talk to one of these RBros guys? I'm thinking about a build and they are to popular around here to ignore.

He's on the site. Sponsor. I've heard nothing but great about them and would love to have one done some day!

That rifle does balance well.  He is more consistent weak side I think than strong side. We were doing the same over here Friday evening.  Eric made a nice 2nd round hit at 812.   The first one was just off in some tough conditions.
