Me and my brother and a buddy drew 1st season and will be camped up potato creek in a wall tent from Thursday til Wed. and be glad to have some dropins and hear some stories. If the weather doesn't change we may be hunting in t shirts! WHat do you think are they still rutting or not? Good luck to all. nwhunter

It's a fun hunt if you let it be. Enjoy the senery and the Deer.  And, if you don't let an arrow fly, that cool too!

Thought I would post our results . Our group went 0 fer 3 and we only saw one entiat buck killed. No snow but descent conditions with no fog. We saw plenty of good bucks and we all had our chances but the archery gods didn't shine on us. Lots of huge two points and some good threes too. My arrow hit some brush and I watched a 27" 4x that would go 180 run off and I have a hard time getting that out of my mind. While we saw lots of bucks they weren't concentrated due to lack of snow I'm sure. It wasn't like it was five years ago and I'm sure it has a lot to do with the amount of tags both rifle and bow. I would support a cutback. We could have killed small bucks and does but chose not to. I think the second season guys will do better unless the fog messed them up. nwhunter

I was there the first two and the last two day's of the season. Saw a really nice four point and a good three point the first day. The buck's acted clueless to me being there, but the doe's were very alert and would'nt let me get closer than 80 yds. They were really in the rut. I went up the last two day's and only saw doe's. One group camping up mud crk road drove out sat. with three four point's in the back of the truck. I saw them there opening day so they were there pretty much the whole season. It sure would have been nice if it had snowed. Had a good time anyway!

Bummer.  Thanks for posting your results.  I had the tag 3 years ago and also ate tag soup.  Saw a ton of bucks in the 2 days (I know but unexpected work complications prevented me from getting out more than that) that I had to hunt but couldn't close the deal. A 30" that still haunts me.
