I always figured if I had to use my carry gun, it would be "arm's length" or less, and so fast that sights would be irrelevant.  Any farther away than that, and I'd probably be charged with murder!  :twocents:

Unless the guy in the mall lighting up the place is 12 yards away from you about to pop somebody... Then you would probably want those sights..

Nah--those Mall shooters are cowards who think they're the only one with a gun.  A few bullets zinging past him, and he'd be gone!  Then It's a matter for the police to handle.  :twocents:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

WTH?  A matter for the police who may be 10 mins away?  How many others will he shoot as he runs away?  Drop the SOB if you have the chance.  And zinging past to where???  Into what or who??  Hit your target and be done with it...  My  :twocents:

What if you could be faster and more accurate using your sights?  What if you knew exactly where the bullet was going before the bullet left the barrel?

You can do all of those things.  Sights are neat when you know how to use them.

I reckon if you are faster and more accurate with your sites then you better use your sites.  By the way, I always know whre my bullet is going before I pull the trigger

Don't be putting words in my mouth.  Not making any claims beyond saying it is irresponsible to suggest you fire a few warning shots and hope the shooter gets scared and runs away.

If you want to carry a gun to look out only for yourself and not give a rats ass about the little kid, mother, grandpa who is the next random target, good for you.  But luckily, not everyone has that attitude.  That's not just 'forum talk', it is just a matter if personal character and values.

I use tritium straight 8 sights.  Stacking 2 dots if you need to is much faster than aligning 3.  Its not meant for target shooting, they are defensive sights on my glock 19.  I would say on a defensive gun, a blank rear sight and a Fiber optic or tritium front sight dot are the fastest in self defense shooting where you use your sights.

I'm running the blacked our rear sight and trijicon night sight up front.  Need to spend some range time with it to see how I like it, but so far so good.  I tried out a gun that had the stacked dots and really liked it.  May switch to that if I don't like my current setup after some time...
