Most "not impressive" mounts
« on: February 10, 2014, 08:08:59 PM »
I see a couple every time I go into my taxidermist's shop. Of course theres always a story behind it like first kill, first buck, sentimental hunt, etc. But I would be curious to see everyones mounts that they paid for that would be considered "not impressive" by trophy standards. And share what the story is behind it, ya just felt like mounting it, it was someones first kill, etc.

Mine would probably be my 5lbs largemouth bass (locally caught), held myself to a 5+ pound minimum for bass for me to spend the money on a mount but now I am kicking myself for a couple gorgeous 4.5 pound smallies that I let go. My only hunting mounts would be self done duck wings or a grouse tail but I dont count that for this thread as I didnt spend anything to do them.

Mine would be my first buck he only scores around 140 but but that's because of deductions . So ya the story is on here somewhere but high country buck first buck and a packout that me and a friend never want to do again with 2 deer couldn't walk for a week after that. Every time I look at it I smile though very cool trip.

Mine is my first deer also. I shot it when I was 13 and was the first legal buck I had seen in 3 years of hunting. My grandpa had it mounted for me for Christmas that year and is still my biggest buck to date
