If it becomes legal,  :bdid: and I HOPE NOT, I predict more that one ATV rider will die in the 1st 2  years. Hopefully no children.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

ATV riders die like flies now. They refuse to wear helmets. They really keep life-flight busy.

And this has NEVER happened to you with motorcycles or auto's, driving to fast on dirt roads?
The next time you are on a forest road, look at all the berms where motorcycles have gone up and down. On trails where they have cut switchbacks?
There are bad apples in all groups, Should we ban all vehicular travel?

I personally would be the first one to turn in a fellow ATV'r not doing it right.
[/quote]

Speaking from experience I have seen more horses and pack string cutting the switchbacks than ATV's..

Each National Forest in Washington State is ran by the Ranger, from what I've been told, is the authority behind allowing ATV's on his ( which is B.S. it's OUR LAND ) forest that he/she controls.

The actual forest is ran by the "Forest Supervisor" who then has "District Rangers" supervising/managing each district. The "District Rangers" are not law enforcement officers and are the equivalent to a WDFW/DNR Regional Manager. Every USFS employee in the district reports to the "District Ranger" with the exception of law enforcement officers who have their own command staff.

Nice Cheery attitude, I know the pilot that flies for life-flight out of Wenatchee, I will ask him

Seems to me that there are several areas open to ATV on the gravel roads in NF and there doesn't seem to be any major safety concerns in those areas.

So why not all NF?

Go up around Buck Meadows there are atvs every where.

I don't own one because there is not enough areas where I want to hunt that allow them.  90% of folks worry about never come to pass.

Hunter should not be allowed on trails because someone might get shot.
Trucks should not be allowed on Forest roads be cause there might be a head on.

Really?

I agree they should stay on road but if a truck , motorcycle, jeep can be there ATVs should be allowed too. :twocents:

I would be in favor of a age limit say 21 before you could operate on roads. :dunno:

Exactly, ATV's are just another mode of transportation, that deserve access to USFS roads.
Some (usually those who do not own one) do not like to share.

As long as they stayed on the roads and didnt tear up the country. Like they do behind the closed gates. Atleast in the Taneum they do. Had motorcycles run into the bowl we where hunting this last year.  :bash: :bash:
