Washelkhunter: I noticed the groups your involved with in your profile, (God, Jesus) Wondering if the "Big Man Upstairs" agree's with your views on sharing. :dunno:

What the BIG guy thinks is a mystery to me. I am following your lead and sharing my views with the head of the WNF  and the Director of the D of A and NF. And I am more than willing to share our great resources with all, just lace up your boots or saddle your
horse. After all, it isnt as if you could'nt use the exercise right?
Tell ya what, ill help you try to get a huge chunk of land to rip up and ride to your little hearts content. I would not oppose an exemption allowing off roaders the entire unimproved sections inside the boundaries of the Hanford reservation. I hear thats a real hot spot, youll like it.

I firmly believe that the ATV owners who take the time and money to street legalize their quads will not do anything to jeopardize this privilege. We will definitely be self policeing.
Legalized ATV's will have metal license plates. ATV's without a lic. plate, or those riding illegally should be reported immediately,(take a pic of the offending quad/person with your cell)

Do you hike or ride horses in the forest? Just curious how you get them/you to the forest? (My guess would be an auto of some type) Your choice of transportation. My preferred choice of transportation is just different than yours. (with better environment friendly gas mileage)
I am willing to share with ALL users, no group should have more of a right than the next.

When/if you ride horses, do you clean up after them when they defecate on/off a trail? I don't like stepping in it.  :twocents:

What we believe is most often false, its what we know that matters.
So what do we know? We know the atvers ride offroad and crosscountry now even in spite of the fact that such malicious destruction of resource is illegal and a crime. We know that they are almost never brought to account. We know it mostly happens in the dark of night and deep in the back country where no one will be able to alert the authorities. We also know that the LEOs are slow to respond or may not even bother. We know all this because we have been witness to it for years. We know the cheap slogan tread lightly is an oxymoron. And we know that once fragile land is scarred it can take centuries to recover. And we know that you just want it all. You believe that since you spent the money to to buy your toys that you think you have a right to ride them wherever and whenever you want and to heck with everyone else. These are the facts we know and we say NO!
Oh, I hike in the countryside and stepping in horse apples doesn't bother me in the least. I'm not very squeamish about such natural things. I apologize. I do not play the "its all relative game", because its not.

ATV riders die like flies now. They refuse to wear helmets. They really keep life-flight busy.

Im all for more access for atv's and was wondering if anyone else had numbers  on the above comment, I found on ATVSafety.gov that there were 35 deaths in Washington due to ATV's from 2008-2011, and in Montana in which some cities allow for use even on city roads (billings) the number from 2008-2011 is 27.

So what do we know washelkhunter? We know that four wheel drive trucks/jeeps/auto's do the exact same thing that is in your post, but more often and more damage. Do we ban them?

Fact #2 I am willing to share with ALL user's,  You are not.

Horse apples do bother some, but not you, so you don't care about their feelings, I get it, you want it all, as long as it's your way.

This post sums it up.  You won't see the people that are putting the money and time into getting their equipment LEGAL going out messing things up.  You will see the jack wagons that aren't gonna do it right making the rest look bad.

Who cares how many deaths there are?  I am all for letting the Darwin theory works its magic.

I see no difference between a motorcycle and a Atv on established roads.

I have never been a fan of not allowing something because something else might happen. That's the same argument the anti gunners use.

No motorized traffic or all motorized traffic. pick one.

Hello All,  :4w:
I have created a Facebook page to use as a tool to promote ATV/UTV equal access to roads in the Wenatchee National Forest/USFS. Please “like” & share the page if you agree.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/ATV-Wenatchee-National-Forest/331286733678210

All user groups (Auto, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrians, horses, snowmobiles) have access to the majority of the forest service roads within the Wenatchee National Forest while ATV's only have access to very few. It is time that changes.
WA State has passed a law (HB1632) that allows ATV/UTV's to be operated on roads with a speed limit of 35mph or less.  Chelan county and the city of East Wenatchee have already passed ordinances to allow for this, Douglas county will be passing one soon also.

The Forest service has been “working” on a travel management plan since 2005, with no end in sight. On a recent call (1-30-2014) to the Wenatchee office, I was told that they are not actively working on any travel management plans.
Now is the time for our user group to be heard loud and clear. Please take a few minutes and contact the USFS to let them know that WE “the public owners of this land” want action on this issue in the very near future!
Thank You
(Wenatchee USFS contacts)

Travel Management lead, Maureen Hansen (509)664-9200

:yeah:  If a road is open for one type of motorized vehicle it should be open to all motorized vehicles.
Americans are systematically advocating, legislating, and voting away each others rights. Support all user groups & quit losing opportunity!

This is ridiculous reasoning. You expect me to believe that someone will sink thousands of $ purchasing an atv/orv and then spend even more $ tricking it out to even be more off-road capable and then magically they wont be going off-roading!   :dunno:  Yeah right.
