We should take pictures of idiot vehicle drivers and report them immediately to the authorities. Driving slow on the freeway, crossing the fog line, crossing the double yellow line, not using their turn signals, talking on their cell phones, putting on makeup, driving with/without their headlights on, tailgating, passing illegally, parking in a handicap zone, driving in the HOV lanes, using the fast lane when driving slow.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

The above posts are examples of why we loose things like hound hunting for cougar, bobcat, bear, baiting for bear and having trapping reduced to live traps only. We don't look out for each other, we don't support each other. Our only concern is what we want without regard to insuring our brother sportsmans needs. That's what happens when it is all about me instead of all about we. If we could ever get it together team work would make a lot of dreams work.

The NFS and WA state could make a lot of money off of 4wheelers, could add to that discovery pass money feasco. Un like the discovery pass owners would actually want to license their 4Wheelers in exchange for more areas to ride.

I was in Flagstaff and folks were driving 4wheeelers around town, they just can't go on the interstates, but that just makes to much sense for this state.
There are only so many sunrises left.

Bottom line is atvs do no more damage (probably less) then a 4x4 truck does to forest service rds. There for it should be allowed. Also for the guys who hunt the late season its a hellava lot safer to ride an atv on nasty rds then be in a vehicle where you may not get out in time and have the ride that will end ur life. (cheaper on gas also)
PS. Washelkhunter u just dont like it cause it probably scares ur horses when a atv goes by.
Avid ARCHERY deer and elk hunter.
Coyote killer in the off season.

It's not that really. I'm just tired of replacing horse shoes and patching up atv riders after my mule Satan has kicked the crap out them and their rides when they get too close.   :chuckle:

I have always put it a different way, as to we (hunters) need to be careful what regulations and restrictions we promote on others while sleeping with the enemy.......(The Nature Conservancy, The Trust for Public Land, The Wilderness Society) Since the BIGGEST percentage of their members don't want YOU killing their animals either.
As I've said many times before....READ  Bearpaws signature!

Except for the discover pass part  :nono: They could double tax them as with other motorized (bigger) vehicles  Sure hope none of them reads this :yike: :chuckle:

Many organizations on that list would love to see WSSA, Motorsports Dealers Assn., Off Highway  vehicle Alliance,  and NW Motorcycle Association in the same place as hunters......Left out. But guess what....you will find that we as hunters have a voice there in The groups I listed above and B.C. Horsemen

I firmly believe that the ATV owners who take the time and money to street legalize their quads will not do anything to jeopardize this privilege. We will definitely be self policeing.
Legalized ATV's will have metal license plates. ATV's without a lic. plate, or those riding illegally should be reported immediately,(take a pic of the offending quad/person with your cell)
The responsible users are the ones who are respectful of the laws. Ranger Districts appreciate them Sometimes it can be the groups president who ruins the respect to that group also.

The problem in OHV is you have the responsible, courteous, and giving group and on the other side you have the a-holes who all they do is beech at the district ranger and forest service employees, as well as destroy the resources, and drinking and driving. This is the problem.

Also, liability is the other problem.  It occurs way to often that an idiot has a few beers, hops on a quad with no helmet, rolls his quad, and hurts himself.  Hey we are going to sue the forest service. in the end, they win.  Another example is an its hot, Have a few beers, and go down the most technical trail in the district. Well, that guy died and the family sued.

In reality, It is the jack wagons who ruin it for everyone else imo.

*hmm I changed the original wording as the censor didn't catch it. sorry mods

Sorry, don't buy it. Sue the FS for wrecking a quad  :yike:

If that was the case, every accident on FS property would up for suit  :bdid:

Hell, then you can sue the FS for getting a flat tire, or charge them tow bill when someone gets stuck in the snow.

Thats just a stupid argument  :bdid:

There are "Bad apples" in all user groups, I believe we can all agree on this.

The national forests belong to all of us, again I believe we can all agree on this.

If a truck goes off road and tears it up, do we ban trucks?
If a motorcycle shoots the berms and makes new trails, do we ban them?
Horses and mules cutting switchbacks, mountain bikers adding jumps to trails, snowmobiles entering wilderness area's...do we ban all these too?
Even hikers/walkers cut switchbacks, make new trails, trample on the flora & fauna...do we ban them too?

So why is it that the ATV "Bad apples" are so much worse than the other bad apples? I honestly do not get it. :dunno:

Correct me if I am wrong Naches,But I beleive Drinking & driving is a problem with all modes of transportation, not just OHV.

It's called, greenie monies. The greenies are given millions, upon millions of dollars to sue, fight the ATV community. The forest circus won't fight because they say they don't have the money to fight them. Plus, most of the NFS, in my mind is full of greenies. The ATV/ORV community is such a small niche, that we will always loose until we get the greenies out and get them replaced by sensible, honest peoples. Kinda like politicians, we need new thinking people in both.

I am all about motorcycles , horses and hiking, but I think ATV's are the easiest form of transportation, and people worry that everyone is going to be riding them if they are legal. I understand where you are coming from, because no one certain user group should be singled out. I have no problem with them if they are kept where they belong.
