Aaron's first Greenhead
« on: November 17, 2008, 01:05:44 PM »
Here is Aaron and Annabelle with the kids first duck. It took a lot of patience for me not to shot. We had a lot of birds come over and it wasn't untill we had decide and began packing things up. Of course the right bird had only took over 5 hours to come in just right. But like alot things he made his shot count and it folded up. The sheer excitement on his face that he had finally got a greenhead and for his first duck it was trully amazing to see.  He got his first deer and duck in the same weekend. We were on the eastside over by Spokane. He has now been out for chukars and quial as well. He's learned that chukars and quail are still a little to fast flying for him. Annabelle has expanded her knowledge on birds and did a great job her first time out for quail and chukar too. Dad zeroed out on this trip for animals, but I had the thrill to watch my son get his deer and duck and what it is to watch your son gets his first animals is a feeling that only comes once in a life. I'm a lucky guy to have been able to share his experience's with him and thankful that my wife hasn't killed me yet for all the hunting and fishing him and I do. :)
Hunting and Fishing is not what I do. But who I am...

Great job!  It's amazing how much satisfaction you can get from watching your kids begin to start getting success in harvesting game with you.  I went deerless this year too but watching my 9 yr old and 11 yr old get their first deer, was plenty enough for me!

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

That is truly what it's all about. Nice job for spending that kind of time with your kids. Those are the memories that both you and your kids will hold onto forever.
