I have never bought a rifle from him but I have bought a couple of B&C stocks from him. He sells on gunbroker and direct an has the best prices on them and good scope prices. He seems like a good and honest guy.

You could get on Gunbroker and search for B&C stocks and find him, his name there is "bighoser".  Then you can check his feedback and see what people are saying.  I know he has a lot of transactions on GB.

Looks like a sweet rifle

You could probably save yourself some money and just buy a 243 SPS varmint and an XLR stock and put it together yourself.  That is all this setup is.  I had a guy bring one in the shop in 308.  They lapped the lugs to much and changed the headspace.  I barrel set back was in order to fix the problem.

I talked with Dick quite a few times on a custom build I was going to have him do.  He seems to have a high level of professionalism and great customer support.   He was not able to build the rifle due to the weight I was trying to get down to.  He even attempted to start another stock line with Lone Wolf.  That all fell through but not on his part.  He seems great.

His price has about doubbled since I started the process x 2 yrs ago.  His TI's came with the Sako extractor on any build and all the upgrades he has now were standard as well.

100% positive feed back on gun broker
Rbros. How much did you need to remove to fix headspace? I neck size only and have never bumped my shoulders back on any rifle I load.
This is the first net feed back I've heard. This thread is cloned on a few forums I frequent.

There is .003" clearance on a go vs no go gauge for headspacing.  The rifle that came in the shop closed on the no go easily.  If a guy never FL sizes or doesn't plan to sell the rifle, probably not a big deal.  The only reason this one was found was because some factory ammo wasn't firing all the time and it was due to excessive headspace.  Set the barrel back one turn and recut, worked perfectly.

Thanks for the info. I won't be selling it and as many primers as I punch a year this factory barrel won't be on it for long.  :chuckle:

Stock I want would be $790 plus shipping
http://www.xlrindustries.com/evolution.html
That's no magazine. The throw in an action, barrel ,reamer( or barreled action), a jewel trigger, tubs firing pin, extra mags. Then the smith work I can't do and that's quite a bit more than the $1850 redhawlk will charge me for the above options.

Ill be writing up a detailed review after it arrives and I get some rounds down her.

The anticipation is killing me. Ill have my rifle next week. Looking forward to working up a load and seeing how it shoots.  Picked up a 1000 ct. Of Berger 64gr column target. Next will be my fav little 58gr vmax and I still have some Berger 105 vld's when it warms up a little.
Went with 26" barrel and Tubbs firing pin, timeny trigger, folding stock option and 20moa rail.ill be topping it with my vortex viper for load work but im looking forward to putting my night vision on it and wacking some yotes soon
