Ithaca double barrel (very cool history)
« on: March 21, 2014, 12:12:47 PM »
So my brother in law works for a company that has recently acquired some really cool guns. Almost all of them are Ithacas and all of them have some really cool history to them, whether they are serial #1 million or whatnot. But there is one, that has the coolest history out of all of them. It is a double barreled 12 gauge, that was taken into WWII by an American soldier who was from Ithaca, NY. He was unfortunately killed in action, and his shotgun was captured by the Japanese. The Japanese soldier fixed a bayonet to the end of the shotgun. In another battle, the Japanese soldier was KIA and the Ithaca shotgun was re-captured by an American soldier, who was also from Ithaca, NY. He brought the shotgun back home with him, bayonet, sheath and all back to Ithaca, NY and gave it to Ithaca Gun Company.

Attached is a picture of me holding the shotgun, there is still blood on the bayonet.
