Bruce, are you using Co2 without a cap over the trap? If so that is why you are having problems with it. You need an end cap for that size pvc pipe with a hose attachment in the center of it. It doesn't have to be super tight just enough to keep most of the co2 in the trap.

Without the cap it kills 90% and it knocks them all out quick.
Co2 is heavier then air. I think the problem is wind. If there is air flow across the top of the trap.
I tried  the cap and to tell the truth a little bit of water after they are unconsious is a lot faster. Only takes a little over a quart after they are knocked out, then wait a couple minutes. Straight CO2 takes at least 15 minutes to be sure. Usually less but who likes to take a chance on a skunk coming back to life in the PU.

Don't tell me it doesn't take that long either. I had a few, in traps thankfully, that looked completely dead and after riding in the PU for a couple hours were sticking their nose out the door sniffing around.

31 so far this year and haven't been sprayed yet. The glands are always bulging which is good.

That looks likes a pretty good size rat. He might be worth more than the beaver with the way the auctions have been going. Nice.
