My 17yr old son has several shirts with NRA and guns on them. One is a Springfield Armory shirt with an AR15 on the back of it. I warned him that he might get in trouble and he said "well Grandpa told me that if I get kicked out of school for this shirt he will take me hunting until they let me back in school" lol

He wears at least two of them every week since school started and has never had a problem until about two weeks ago when a teacher finally told him to put a jacket over his Springfield Armory shirt. He laughed, walked away and said "this is my favorite shirt, call my Grandpa and tell him I can't wear it". He is still wearing the shirt to school and the teacher hasn't said a word since.

With the way things are today I am quite surprised he hasn't been kicked out but so far he has got away with it.

This is how it should be in a free country.  Too bad some kids in other schools are suspended for wearing NRA t-shirts, chewing a pop-tart into the shape of a gun, or pointing their finger and saying "pow" or "bang" to name a few incidents of Zero-Tolerance abuse.

After reading this...  I think there is an agenda being pushed.    :dunno:        Yikes

The point of this thread is to show people that there is an AGENDA BEING PUSHED.  It's an ANTI-GUN AGENDA.  Zero-Tolerance policies have obviously been misapplied and abused around the country in ways that support anti-gun agendas and ideologies.  In many cases, kids are being traumatized and their futures ruined because of irrational applications of Zero-Tolerance policies.  Some states are now proposing legislation to protect our kids from this extreme idiocy.  Read the examples of what has been happening around the country.

If you want people of any age to be responsible about guns, especially kids, you have to teach them about guns. The uses, the danger and how to behave with them. To most kids, and too many adults, guns are an unknown evil, not to be talked about, and if you bring them up, BAM, you're in trouble. Educate, educate, educate.

Zero tolerance has become a cop out for mediocre administrators in many fields. Take each case on it's merits and make a plan to deal with it. This stuff doesn't "fix" anything, just kicks it down the road.

The zero tolerance is teaching kids that guns are evil, and dangerous and they should be afraid of them. This is how they are going change the public's opinion on guns.

See what AG Holder says about it.

That's right!  It's the "Propaganda Ministry" at work ... traumatizing and brainwashing.

Added to growing list of examples on page 2.

Widefield, Colorado – May 2014

Another example of traumatizing and indoctrinating children to support anti-gun agendas.
Hopefully our legislators are taking note of this obvious abuse of Zero Tolerance policies.

My boy goes to school next year and I am sure I will be in the principals office often.   :bash: :bash: My kids are both lifetime members of the NRA and both well versed in firearms and firearm safety.  With that being said....my boy is very vocal and very into guns...this will surely lead to problems in our public school system.  Maybe I will just break the ice on the first day and send him to school in his NRA shirt.   :chuckle:
:yeah:
NICE!

When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Thanks for the link; it's yet another story of an absurd response to the word "gun" being written in an assignment.  Why were the police called?

Added to examples on page 2.
