"Scandi" Bushcraft
« on: February 17, 2014, 03:35:17 PM »
I'm waiting on materials for knives so I am working on one for myself.  The "Scandi" grind seems to be popular in the Bushcraft world so I thought I would try one.
Cutting edge is 4" and grind is 15* each side.  OAL is just over 8".  Not sure what I'll do with scales yet.

Well, I finally finished a knife for myself, in between finishing others.  This will now be my woods knife.  It will get a leather pocket sheath with a dangler loop.  A little polishing and a couple more coats of BLO and it will be good to go.  Already hair popping sharp :tup:

Made from 1084HC
Blade length = 4"
Handle length = 4.5"
OAL = 8.5"
Scales = Bloodwood with 3/16 brass pins and a 1/4 lanyard tube.

sure  looks like it will fit the bill for just about  any type of work  needed while in the woods for sure .  I like the spacers  you put in  really bring out the wood on the handle spine  . nice job

I like those spacers as well. What did you use for them?
