My partner and I are going through sun canyon lodge out of Augusta, mt. It's just a taxi ride. All our gear and josh is dropping us off. Those bulls are beauties! Honestly, this could be something we do every year, so I'm hoping to see the animals more then anything. Yea, i hope we stick something, but 15-20 miles deep in an area that we've never been is gonna be tough! We are both committed and ready to roll tomorrow if we had to.

Josh runs a great outfit, I hunted with them last year. We saw one fresh set of grizzly tracks in six days. The Bob is an amazing place.

My boss went in the BOB 2 years ago slim pickens only saw a few elk and not any bucks to shoot. They rode in like 24 miles or so? not sure what outfitter he used. Is there better areas than others? I dont want to spend lots a money and not atleast see animals,

We had a similar experience but we know the animals were there. We ended up going during a full moon and the weather was very very warm without a cloud in the sky almost all week.

Elk are somewhat sparse in the Bob relatively speaking, there are many places in MT that have much, much higher densities (elk & people).  The wilderness is a place where you go to have a different experience than driving the roads in the Little Belts.

I happen to hunt the Little Belts and there are MANY places to hunt where you are away from the road.

The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

The elk hunting was Good, but you had to work for it. There were a couple bulls in every basin.

The deer hunting was REALLY good and we were there on a bad year (weather and feed).

From what I understand Paul shot one of the largest bulls his guide (Mills I believe) has ever seen there.
I was thinking that was the bull taken with R. Mills.
