Sorry about your disappointment, but I would've thought you'd have checked it out better before going all in. Sounds like an expensive mistake. Not trying to flame you or anything but was the land just made private between the time you applied for permits and when you actually arrived there to hunt?

You apply and they tell you where to go if you draw. Wacoyotehunter was complaining about the same general thing.
His name was scott

oh people, some of those permits were nothing but lip service! wdfw can now say they gave a permit and it went unfilled, they had a complaint and were basically giving you an area where the complaint come from! They know damn good and well the chances of that cat being there are slim but were not about to let you cat hunt the whole unit!
Here is the description of my hunt twisp is houses hwy20 houses Patterson lake rd houses twin lakes paved houses wolf creek rd it is all private joke..........
I mentioned this in another thread, these permits have rarely been anything to get excited about. They have been doing this for years. I drew one once and it was all 10 and 20 acres pieces of private property. Impossible to run.
If I drove 7 hrs to get there, at least walk the area. Look for tracks or a travel corridor. Try a predator call, ask permission from neighboring landowners.
huntinphool the area is 5 square miles your right 4.5 is private and covered with 40 acre tracts of houses!
Pretty sad a member shouts out about a bad expeerience and gets called out. Thanks backcountry for the info it should have been the whole unit obviously there's cats there.for some of you grow up take the info pass it on.no reason to bash on people.at least he made the right decision on not cutting loose the dogs it could have been bad for hound hunteers.
Ok we'll I had the tag spent 10 hours with locals who lived there driving frost road 1/2 mile and elbow coulee 1 mile till you hit private but hey apparently you guys know more than me I only started this post to worn the few who had tags make sure you know what you have before you go not to start a *censored* show that is the problem with hunters everybody is an expert I'm done you wounder why everything is messed up cause nobody can get along instead of having each others back every one is a *censored*ing experts and that is why we will never resolve our game issues well done guys!!
