Recommended guide service help
« on: February 21, 2014, 10:02:49 PM »
I was thinking of going bottom fishing for the first time ever this year and I was curious if anyone on here has ever been on one of those 2 day guided trips with someone like Westport Charter's? Sound's pretty cheap for someone who doesn't already have the gear and boat to go out. Can someone recommend anyone else who is decently priced and consistently catches fish on their outing's? Also I was thinking maybe salmon or steelhead fishing instead with someone like Westside Guide service with Larry Scott? Send me a PM or just post here! Thanks!  Also I'm looking for someone reasonably priced and has a good reputation...

I fish out of Lapush from April to July for Bottom fish and Halibut. Epic Fishing Adventures.> I can give plenty of references if you need them. We go catching not fishing. Take a look at my web site for more details or PM me here. We fish out of a 33' 20,000lb Bounty Motor Yacht. twin Deisels. Ling cod and Sea Bass are very plentiful.

  Thanks

   Jim

Larry Scott knows the Peninsula rivers like few others. He has racked up big numbers of big fish in his career. Seen him on the river many times, and know people around Forks who know him personally. Never booked a trip with him, but for a driftboat trip- I can't see how you could go wrong there.

For salmon and steelhead were you planning on a sled or drift boat?

Honestly dont know what difference it would make drifting or having a sled boat. Does it just make fishing the same hole easier? As opposed to drifting and not being able to return up river very easily? I would have to say sled boat I guess. It all sounds really fun, I've never caught a salmon or steelhead before and would love to have the opportunity, along with my wife! I would also like to take her out to catch rockfish and cod sometime soon... I'm gonna look up all these new ideas and guide services and see what sounds best for our style.

If you are new to steel heading I would recommend you go with Clancy in March. He will put you on a lot of fish! Fishing with him will be a great way to get your limit!
