2 bulls-stampede 466
« on: November 18, 2008, 04:10:17 PM »
Saw 2 280-320 class bulls taken out of the stampede 466 this last weekend. I looked in the game regs. and did not see that unit was open. Maybe poachers or indians?

I just checked out the regs and didn't see anything, must have been indians.

The sad truth is and everybody needs to understand whats going on in this state is the indians are going to kill every bull elk they can and whats left over the sportsman are gonna have to fight over what tags are left .They pretty much destroyed the fishing in this state and now there after the game. Before long a cow tag will be as valued as much as a prime bull tag was a couple years ago.Make no mistake I had an Indian tell me once that if there is only one elk left in this state he wants to be the one to kill it.The sportsmans in this state spend millions of dollars in order to hunt legally. While the Indians just take and don't abide by anything but what benefits them.Somethig needs to change before it's to late. >:( >:( >:( :mgun2:

oh yeah ive seen plenty of indians bringing elk out of stampede and teanum. cows, calfs, bulls it didnt matter as long as they got to get thier elk. i seen one indian with a winch on the back of his truck and 1000ft of cable and 2 extra spools of 1000ft cable just to get elk out. now i dont know how he actually managed that but he had his "share" of elk.

There is an article written in todays (11/19) Everett Herald about how indians only take 2% of animals killed by hunting a year in western washington. Stampede Pass area-Tribal members took 24 of 48 deer taken and 15 of 8 elk. Nooksack-Tribal hunters took 14 of 10 elk. Of the 45,916 deer and elk hunted, 992 animals were taken by tribal members.

If we can't get them to hunt by the same rules we do, maybe we can get state legislature to propose legalizing gambling throughout the state. There may be some bargaining that goes on after that.
