If you could have only one gun of each action type...

If you could only have one gun of each main action type, what would it be and why? This is all inclusive for different guns. Like if you picked a semi auto rifle you could not then have a semi auto shotgun or pistol. Bolt action. Lever action. Pump action. Break open (single shot/side by side/OU), Semi-auto. Revolver, Muzzleloader.
Bolt Action
- Browning A-Bolt 30-06 I already have this gun, have had it since I was 16, been absolutely infatuated with it since.
Lever Action
- Marlin Model 1895GBL 45-70. I love the look of it and would love a 30-30 but if I could only have one lever gun I would want this so I feel comfortable going after elk with it.
Pump Action
- Mossberg 535. I have this in the slug version, then I could shoot 2 3/4 to 3.5 inch shells and still exchange barrels if need be for anything I need a shotgun for.
Semi-Auto
- Browning BAR Mark II Safari. I love the look of this gun as well. I was going to say in 338 but for that gun I would like something I would use for more than elk and bigger without being so overgunned so I would probably stick with good ol 30-06.
Muzzleloader
- Traditions Vortek 50. I know there is a love hate thing going on with these because of ignition issues. Maybe I just got lucky with mine, it hasnt had any misfires that werent my fault and I love this gun.
Revolver
- Taurus Raging Bull 444 in 44 mag. With the 8 inch barrel. Not a big handgun guy. Just something to pack around while scouting and to keep in a quick safe next to the bed. Something I could also hunt with if I wanted to. And like a couple of the others, I love the look of it.

Bolt action- Winchester 52D .22. If you can shoot this rifle off hand you can shoot anything.
Lever gun- Pre 64 mod 94 in 30-30. It's a classic and I would hunt anything 200 and in with this rifle
Pump action- Remington 870
Semi auto- LaRue OBR in .260. This would cover anything the 30-30 couldn't
Muzzleloader- I have no idea. Maybe one of the Savage smokless guns
Revolver- Smith mod 29 4" in 44mag

Um... not to state the obvious... but...
There are more action types than you listed.
Like Full-Auto, Single action revolver, double action revolver, Single or double barrel....
I could go on.
Or did you simply want others to list what they would choose for the actions you specified?
Bolt, Lever, Pump, Semi-Auto Recoil, Breach Loading, and Wheel gun?
If this is the case... well ok, I'll play.
These of course are assuming money is no issue? right?
Bolt Action
- M40A5. It's basically your tried and true Remington 700 action on steroids for the Marines.
Lever Action
- I still would Love to get one of the late model Winchester 9422. Super fun shooting for small game and targets. Plus, with the above mentioned bolt gun, this would be needed for the small game as the other would be perfectly adequate for all big game out past distances of 1000 yards... which is even hard to see out to.
Pump Action
- Well... come on. There is only one true winner here. The Remington 870. Get a 3 1/2" magnum in this, and you can hunt anything on the planet with bird shot or slugs. Plus the 870 is easy to get parts for. And is super easy to feild strip.
Semi-Auto
- If I had to choose just one, I would get an RSASS. With a .308 semi-auto, you can do just about anything, and hunting coyotes would be a blast with such an awesome sniper platform that has 50 rd. mags.
Muzzleloader
- I would stick with what I use, and I love it. A Knight Bighorn in Stainless steel 50 cal. Super accurate, super easy to clean.
Revolver
- Ruger GP100 .357 mag 5". Super sweet little gun. Can do a whole lot. and isn't as bulky as the smith and wessons.

I know the more specific you can get theres a lot more than what I listed. I was just meaning to stick to the basic umbrella types. Coulda included many different kinds of muzzleloaders, single action revolvers, double action revolvers, full auto, rolling block (and several others that are similar), etc... My idea was to limit to the basic most common ones.

Bolt - M40A5. Good enough for Marine scout/snipers, good enough for me.
That takes care of any large game hunting I would be doing.
Lever - Probably a little Henry golden boy .22. That takes care of any small game (rabbits....) and dispatching, plus it's a fun plinking gun.
Pump - Remington 870 Blackhawk. Home defense, and maybe duck/grouse in a pinch...
Semi Auto - H&K P30 in .40 with the LEM mod. Gotta have something for concealed carry, right?
Revolver - Ruger gp100 with the 4in barrel.
MZL - No idea, I've never owned or fired one. Probably a Blunderbuss, so I could load it with broken glass, dog poop and rock salt, "Hey you kids, get off my lawn!".
There are other guns I like better, and that are cooler, but if I only get one of each then I want stuff I will use!

Bolt Action - Blaser R8 Professional since I could just do a barrel/action swap to use a variety of calibers from .222 Rem, all the way up to .375 H&H Magnum
Lever Action - Marlin Model 1895 45/70
Pump Action - Winchester SXP Waterfowl hunter 3-1/2"
Semi-Auto - Colt Delta Elite 10mm
Muzzleloader - Not really interested in muzzleloaders and never fired one, so no idea on this.
Revolver - Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum with 9.5" barrel. I am not huge fan of revolvers, but the first handgun I ever fired was an SRH in .44 magnum. (I was like 10 or 11 at the time if I recall correctly, and despite almost dislocating my trigger finger on the first shot, I *loved* it, and went through almost an entire box of ammo before the guy that took me shooting told me I had had enough fun with that gun for one day, and made me switch to shooting his .22LR) It is one of the few revolvers I would like to buy some day.
