Garmin Gps

Im looking at investing in a much needed gps, I read a lot of bad reviews on the rino's, which have a radio and would be a plus if your down. I spend a lot of time in the woods alone, and this year have had some serious dizzy spells that have landed me in the E.R. My ol' Lady sais i need to get a gps. so I was looking at the Oregon because its on sale for 299.00 at cabelas and has excellent reviews has anyone had experience with any of these and can my lady track me if she needs too?

Garmin is the way to go. GPSMAP, Oregon, Montana are all good units. Look at the features though. My personal preference is a unit that accepts a microSD card, allows me to add maps, waterproof, etc. There are sites that have files that contain the GMU with private land owner contact information that can be loaded into the GPS unit. Helps keep you from straying onto private property.

wrt your health issue I would highly recommend a SPOT (www.findmespot.com) unit. These allow you to get emergency services anywhere in the northern hemisphere. SPOT will also allow your wife to monitor your location, and for you to send text/e-mail messages back to her from the field just to let her know you are okay. A GPS will not help you here.

Can't go wrong with a Garmin. I still use the GPS12 I've had for many years. They just work every time.

I recently picked up a Dakota for $150 on gps city website (I think that's what it was)
I wanted a smaller more compact one

I have the Garmin 60CSX, bought it new when they were top of the line technology 

Would love a Oregon, know two guys that have them, but wont part with my 60CSX to buy a new one while its still working.
